Save Money by Hiring an Interior Designer

You like the idea of saving a few dollars and the satisfaction that comes with designing your room yourself,  but you can’t seem to visualize your space.

In fact, paint chips have found a permanent home on your side table and you’ve spent the last decade looking for the perfect sofa.  Yet you keep studying the design magazines, hoping that through osmosis you will wake up one morning and be inspired with creative genius.  Sound familiar?

If you’re tired of waiting for inspiration, but still want to participate in the design process, maybe it’s time to get help. It may be time to call a professional.

Interior Designers, like any professionals, have been trained and have practiced in their profession for many years.  They have an eye for color, balance, style and they know how to put it all together.  Designers can look at a room without taking dimensions, and tell you what will and won’t fit.  They can suggest colors based on the mood you want to evoke and can suggest a floor plan that will work with the traffic pattern and function of each room.

Before you run out and buy that perfect fuchsia paint for the living room, consider giving a designer a call before you dip the brush in the paint.  Most designers are willing to consult with you by the hour for your color scheme and floor plan.  For a fee, many will go shopping with you for additional advice about scale and style.  Having expert advice can save thousands of dollars when you realize the custom leather sectional you ordered is too big for the room. Let the designers do what they do best.  They can and will point you in the right direction.

Armed with a plan for creating a room you’ll love, you can now go out and buy the paint, furniture and accessories to pull it all together. Your project will be a whole lot more fun when you don’t have to agonize over paint chips. There is no shame in getting advice and you can still get the satisfaction of doing the work yourself!

Now about that fuchsia…….
