Got "stuff" that’s been piling up in the closet or garage? Finished a remodeling project and you've got old doors, lumber, appliances, etc.? Before you make a trip to the landfill or hire someone to haul it away, check out our recycling options right here in Tucson.

Many of these organizations make it easy for you by picking up your old items so you don't have to worry about the transportation factor. If you do plan on dropping items off yourself, we encourage you to call first to make sure they can use your old "stuff". (Their needs and inventory change on a daily basis.)

Accepts tax deductible donations of new and gently used building materials, usable paint, appliances and home furnishings are accepted to assist families or individuals of low and moderated incomes. The Community Closet program also offers donated clothing and bedding to needy persons and families.

Call or visit their website for a current list of "needs". Besides accepting a variety of donations from furniture to computers, they also accept donations of used medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, canes, walkers, bathroom safety equipment and assistive devices. Items are also available free for those in need.

Besides taking canned goods and dry foods, the CFB’s Gleaning Program encourages you to bring in fruits and vegetables from your backyard. Their Gardening Education Program is always in need of a variety of garden supplies such as shovels, picks, rakes, hoses, irrigation supplies, wheelbarrows, farm equipment, plants and seeds.
